Everywhere you go and everything you need will require these repositories, so you should probably enable them. Under Ubuntu Edgy Eft it's easy, just System>Administration>Software Sources and enable all the checkboxes in that first tab. For everyone else, do this:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Then uncomment (remove the '#' symbol) from the sources you need. Save and refresh with this:

sudo apt-get update
